I've always believed there is a reason and a purpose to all things, and that there are no coincidences. I also embrace the belief that our lives and the events in our lives are simply the results of past decisions we have made and the actions we've taken. Our future will be the result of the decisions and actions we make and take in the present, at this very moment. We have a wide array of choices before us, a buffet of possibilities. Our actions and decisions are what turn those possibilities into our realities. While we can not determine or control how those beyond ourselves will think and act, we always have choices in regards to how we will respond in turn.
I've been writing ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. It started right about the same time I decided I could read if I just stared at the words long enough. I don't know why, but at three years old, I was sure I could teach myself to read if I tried hard and long enough. It wasn't all that difficult once I learned that letters had sounds attached to them.
I've been writing professionally for the last 25 years, as part of my employment where I designed and edited company newletters, training programs and manuals, as well as the usual "state of affairs" reports. My favorite, by far, has been my involvement with the newletters.
When writing for my own leisure, I like to research and write on issues of great importance to me. Most of my interests are centered around history and the American condition, which is becoming worse by the minute. In addition to some pet social issues such as the poisons being put in our food supply by big corporations, I take great offense to the assaults on American liberties, particularly those granted by the US Constitution.
Spirituality is a topic I've been exploring and incorporating into my life for the last 15 years. I have learned a great deal about using spiritual principles to attain whatever goal I'm pursuing and have shared my own journey here on Hubpages.
